Firm principal Scott M. Richter has been practicing law in both Florida and California for 27 years. After being selected as a member of Law Review at the University of Miami School of Law (an honor awarded to only the top 7% of his class) and graduating cum laude in 1989, Scott began his legal career at the national firm of Kelley, Drye and Warren, where he was a civil litigator in both the firm’s Miami and Los Angeles offices. Scott then further honed his legal skills with Beverly Hills boutique firm Rosenberg, Nagler & Phillips before hanging his own shingle in 1994.
Since then, Scott’s practice has been wide and varied. He has represented both corporate and individual clients in a wide array of litigation and transactional matters, ranging from business cases and commercial lease negotiations to family law litigation and prenuptial agreements.
Additionally, Scott has represented many entertainment clients and has extensive experience negotiating and preparing contracts for numerous artists, including writers, actors and other performers. Indeed as a multiple award-winning WGA writer/producer himself, Scott has special insight into key issues affecting talent both in front of and behind the camera. Scott’s counsel has also been sought by talent managers and agents, for whom he has consulted on various legal issues.
The fact that Scott's practice is largely referral based is a testament to the outstanding, personalized “concierge” service that he provides to both large and small clients alike.
Scott was a Godsend to me and my family, helping us through one of the darkest, most difficult time of our lives. His compassion, empathy, patience, professionalism and friendship, truly carried us.
Scott is a great attorney who handled my case swiftly and professionally. I got the outcome I wanted, with very little time taken away from my own schedule which doesn’t always happen with any lawsuit. I would happily recommend him to any friends, family or colleagues.
Scott has represented me legally on several occasions and I can’t recommend him enough. The parties on the other side were also impressed by him which made negotiations easy and smooth. Scott is easy to talk to and lays things out in a detailed, yet clear and simple manner. He’s friendly and open and yet tenacious and smart… a combination of qualities that are hard to find in an attorney.
